With a tip of the hat to my fellow blogger Trish Crain of the Alabama School Connection and her great skills at making maps, this post ran on Oct. 28 and had 1,593 views.

Once again we took at look at the Alabama Accountability Act and the fact that it too often failed to live up to its promise to help “failing schools” and their students.  The map locates private schools that have received scholarships through AAA, as well as “failing schools.”  In many cases, there are no private schools anywhere near the schools we are supposed to be helping.  And since students going to private schools must have their own transportation, location is a very big issue, particularly in rural counties.

This post also points out a number of private schools benefitting from the scholarships are located in counties where there is not a single “failing school.”

Just another example of promises made that were never kept.
