The Hechinger Report is an excellent online publication that covers education issues. One of the topics we hear so much about these days are “high stakes test.” Concern about them have fueled the “opt out” movement around the country, especially in New York state.
Hechinger surveyed the District of Columbia and 44 states that have adopted Common Core aligned test they will give this spring. The learned that few states will use these scores to determine student-related decisions and to evaluate teachers.
